University of Siena – Studying Dentistry in Italy
If you want to study dentistry in Italy, taught in the English language, then you are in luck! There is only one university that teaches
In most countries medical school is the most difficult degree to secure a place in. You need to have the top high school grades, sometimes require a previous university degree (and top grades there), have to do an intense admission test, perform well on various interviews, along with other hurdles. In Italy the process is made simple. You need no prior background, just 12 years of school and a passing grade on the IMAT. It’s that simple.
Yes! You will be given 6 years of quality education in a modern European university, qualifying you for a world-renowned medical degree. Italy boasts some of the worlds oldest universities, some almost 800 years old! Overall, the average Italian public medical school is comparable to a typical European medical school, with some cultural differences to be expected here and there.
One of the most attractive things about these universities is the cost. While pricing is not fixed and depends on a few factors (the most relevant being your family income), you can expect to pay no more than 4000 euros per year. However, that is the extreme case, the vast majority of students pay just a few hundred euro per year in tuition fees, with some paying nothing at all! Even if you have rich parents, there are often other ways to get fee reductions, which we will explain in more detail.
Furthermore, Italy is very generous with scholarships. If your family income is low enough you can receive up to 7000 euros per year as a lump sum, as well as reduced fee canteen meals at the university. Everyone is entitled to these payments provided their family income (or in some cases personal income) is low enough. There are also other scholarships based on things like academic merit. Yup you heard that right, in Italy you can pretty much get PAID to study medicine.
Nope. You do not need to know Italian to enrol into medical school, the course is entirely run in English. However, you will be expected to learn Italian throughout your university years so you can communicate with patients and hospital staff, this will be important for your clinical experience.
It is also HIGHLY recommended you try your best to learn Italian, since it will make your life in Italy much easier.
You need to pass the IMAT. While that may not sound like much, there are generally over 10,000 test takers per year, and under 1000 places in medical school. So you will need to study hard to beat the competition. Luckily we have provided you with the most comprehensive IMAT preparation course on the market. We believe this opportunity should be available to everyone, so we have priced the course far below our competitors. If you are serious about becoming a future medical student, then we have you covered!
