IMAT Registration: How to Book the IMAT and IMAT Test Centres
The IMAT 2024 will open for registration on 2nd of September 2024. Booking the IMAT is an essential step in the process of applying for medical school in Italy.
How to Book the IMAT
Bookings for the IMAT test are made exclusively on the Universitaly website. You will need to create an account before you book the test.
How Many University Choices Can I Select?
You can technically apply for all the university choices. However…
- Non-EU students: Will only be considered for their first choice. This is the one you must pre-enrol for.
- EU students: Can apply for all of them and be considered for all choices. Make sure to select your first choice in the first place, the second choice in the second place and so on. The order matters and cannot be changed after the registration time closes!
When does IMAT Registration Open?
From the 2nd of September to the 12th of September 2024. Registrations will close at 15:00 on the 12th of September.
Please note that if you plan to take the IMAT outside of Italy you should book as quickly as possible. Test centres do not have unlimited spaces and can fill up quickly.
IMAT Registration Cost
The IMAT registration fee is GBP 114.00, EUR 130.00 or USD 164.00. The currency you pay will depend on your test centre.
Payment must be done via credit/debit card. You cannot apply for fee exemptions.
Cancelling IMAT Registration
It is possible to cancel your registration if you wish to change your university choices or test centre, or if you no longer wish to take the IMAT. You will receive a full refund if you do so by 12:00 CET on the 13th September 2024. Refunds are not possible after this time and date.
IMAT Receipt
You will receive an email confirming your payment, which will be sent to the email address you provided. It is important you keep this!
IMAT Test Locations and Times
The IMAT can be taken in 24 countries. You book your test centre during your IMAT registration. If you are taking the test in Italy, you must take the IMAT in the same city as your first choice university.
The following test centres are available with the following addresses, start times and other important details. Make sure to arrive to the test well before the start time or you may be denied entry!
Please note that any of the test centre specifications may change since the writing of this article.
IMPORTANT: Get to your test venue well before the minimum required time! It can be hard to find the exact test location if you are visiting a foreign country to take the test in.

Have Questions
Post them below!
27 responses
1) As an Italian citizen and resident who has a foreign diploma (IB Diploma), am I still considered as an EU applicant for the IMAT?
2) As an Italian citizen with Italian residency, as an EU applicant, can I take the IMAT exam in UAE?
thank you
Yes you are an EU applicant if you hold Italian citizenship. You can also take the IMAT outside of Italy
Should the registration be open already? I can see the button for 2024/2025 but when I click and continue, the next page shows only info about the payment and a blank box, where I think the next button should be?
It will be like this until IMAT registrations open
Is it possible to change the university once I have done its pre-enrolment at the universitaly site? (As a non-eu student)
You will need to change your pre enrolment in this case if you want to change your university choice as a non-EU
If the seat are filled in the university of form then what can I do tell me ….
If you are referring to seats at the test centers available on Universitaly, then you will need to select another test center
What time does the IMAT registration open?
There is no officially stated time.
Can IMAT registrations be changed?
Yes but this must be done before the registrations close, which is on the 12th of September this year
Should I print the payment approved email because some say I have to take it to the test center?
Yes print it along with the receipts and bring them with you
Can imat slots be changed
What do you mean by this question?
What is the IMAT registration date?
2nd of September 2024 to 12th of September 2024.
What documents do non-eu need to take on the day of imat exam?
You should bring
1) Pens
2) ID documents (including the same one as you registered on Universitaly)
3) Payment receipt for the IMAT
4) Booking confirmation
5) Wrist watch (non-electronic)
6) water bottle and snack (optional)
I have received payment receipt for the imat but I haven’t received any booking confirmation email
If the seat are filled in the university of form then what can I do tell me ….
How to register fee
I am not sure what you mean. Please rephrase your question
for 2025 imat exam how am I supposed to book the seats as a eu and should I wait for the result or should I just already register In a university and how to do it . which time is the best for registrar in a university so its confirm that am getting in the uni.
You will need to book the IMAT the same way as a non-EU student (on Universitaly). You will not need to do a pre-enrollment on Universitaly as an EU student however. Please note that some universities may still require you to pre register on their website. I recommend doing all these applications as soon as they open, especially booking the IMAT if you are taking it outside of Italy, since seats can fill up fast.
IMAT registrations are not open yet, we will publish more information about registration dates when they become available.
Here from Study Cloud Educational Services, I’m Rekha. We intend to open an IMAT coaching centre in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Would you be able to assist us with the exam registration process?
