The IMAT 2024 is finally done. Most of you who just took the test are probably experiencing a mix of emotions at this point. While we still need to wait until the scores come out, you can take a look at the IMAT 2024 paper. All the correct answers are placed as option A.

IMAT 2024 Brief Section Analysis
The IMAT 2024 was quite similar to previous years, but some things do stand out as different.
Firstly, there were no critical thinking questions this year in the logical reasoning section. Critical thinking has always featured in the IMAT, its removal this year may have come as a surprise for many.
Reading Skills and Knowledge Acquired During Studies was fairly similar to last year. This section did however feature a question regarding understanding about English grammar. This is the first time this has happened.
Biology was also fairly straightforward this year. The questions were generally easier than in previous years, with far less complicated questions. There was also a complete lack of anatomy and physiology questions. Cell biology, biochemistry, the central dogma and genetics were heavily featured in this exam.
Chemistry had a more typical level of difficulty as compared to previous years. This year’s paper had more calculation questions than usual. Overall, the questions were phrased in a more straightforward and easy way to read compared to usual.
Physics and Math were quite similar to the previous year’s exam. This year there were 7 math questions and 6 physics questions.
IMAT 2024 Difficulty
Overall, this exam can be said to be one of the easier IMAT exams we have seen in the past few years. This is almost entirely due to the biology section featuring very straightforward question types.
IMAT 2024 Results
The following dates are good to take note of…
On the 26 of September, the anonymous results will be published. You will not see your name written anywhere, but your barcode will feature alongside your score.
On the 3 of October, the official results will be released. You will then know your score for sure.
On the 10th the ranking will start and you will hopefully receive your admission to medical school. Please note that EU students will have multiple entry rounds, so even if your score is not high enough on this date for entry, you can still remain in the competition.

Do you think the threshold will rise significantly based on the easier test this year? My first choice is dentistry sapienza and I saw last years the threshold was around 45. Do you think I am fine ? I know you can’t predict but still value your opinion

I wasn’t able to take the test this year and I just read that exam paper and it was really easy for the IMAT standarts. Dou you guys think that maybe the test structure will remain like this in the next year?
It is not possible to say this in advance. The writers might make it harder next year if they think too many people got a high enough score. We will need to wait and see

The results will be out on the 3rd of October, but the rankings will only start on the 10th of October

It is not possible to say anything for sure at this stage, it could happens since the Biology section was a fair bit easier this year than usual. But there is no point in making speculations, we will only know when the rankings start

I am really sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately, if you do not complete the answer sheet correctly, your answer is invalid and scores zero for that question. You can try write to Minerva Testing and Universitaly about this, but unfortunately I do not think this will help.

I am not sure I understand your question regarding what to report however.
I mean , will it be okay if I go to Italy a month later than the date of commencement of the MD medicine program ? Someone said my candidature might get cancelled if I do not arrive on time , so I am a bit stressed regarding that .
You will need to check with your university about this since they can have different requirements regarding visa deadlines

Hi Volkan, we cannot really say anything about required scores until the ranking starts. Your status as an EU or non-EU candidate is also very important regarding entry score requirements.

I sat for the IMAT for the last and final time this time as my 2 attempts before, i could ot make it. It is unfortunately impossible to say at this point. We need to wait for the rankings to come out, trying to make predictions would be based purely on speculation, which is of no value.

Hi me again . My result if it’s correct from the barcode is 65.2 and I am EU . I am really worried because the results are indeed higher but I hope that they are mostly non EU .
My first choice university is dentistry Rome and after the rankings do you think the cut off for eu and particularly dentistry will be more than 60?

It is impossible to say for sure at this point. You have a very good score, so I would not be too worried. But it really depends on how many people chose the same university as you for their first choice

What do you mean by that eu will have multiple rounds after Imat test
EU students have rounds meaning that every week the scores generally decrease slightly, which means if you did not get in initially, you may get in at a later date. You must however confirm on Universitaly to stay in the ranking
